We can\u2019t be afraid to blaze our own trail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aldridge joins software engineer, Mirella Batista, and development manager, Kelly Churchill, for the panel discussion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou will never know all you need to know to get a job,\u201d says Churchill. \u201cIf you have a growth mindset and are open to learning, it will take you far. Women can and should have a seat at the table with equitable pay and career growth opportunities.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Topics include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><strong>The IT journey <\/strong>&#8211; Hear personal lessons learned, challenges, hurdles, growth, and victories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><strong>How to prepare<\/strong> &#8211; Learn about unique skills and interview tips to land a job in IT.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><strong>Community resources<\/strong> &#8211; Try out tools the experts use to stay ahead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><strong>Impostor Syndrome<\/strong> \u2013 How to recognize it and overcome it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen need to know their worth, know you belong where you are, and don\u2019t doubt your skills,\u201d says Batista. \u201cKeep track of your accomplishments and remind yourself of what you have done, what you have become, and make a habit of sharing your accomplishments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) area of study, the event is free and open to the public.
