In a move that cements the college\u2019s commitment to equity and inclusion, Dr. Rhodes recently approved the creation of a full-time permanent director for the ACC\u2019s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation Campus Center (TRHT). The director will be responsible for relationship-building and facilitating ongoing conversations with internal and external stakeholders about changing the racial narrative both at ACC and in Central Texas. <\/p>\n
\u201cACC was honored to receive our initial three-year TRHT planning grant in late 2017. Once we began the hard work of planning the Center and engaging with community partners, it became clear there was a need for a full-time director to carry this important work forward,\u201d says Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm, executive vice president for Campus Operations and Public Affairs. <\/p>\n
ACC was one of only 10 institutions nationwide selected to explore the establishment of a Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center<\/a>. It was also the only Texas institution and only community college selected.<\/p>\n The goal of the TRHT is to work with internal and external partners to create a community where race, ethnicity and other human differences are no longer predictors of success and well-being in any sector of the community.
