The academy will provide participating ISD students an opportunity to take college courses in phlebotomy, pharmacy and emergency medical technicians courses. The academy also includes allied health classes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I really like the hands-on experience before going into a certain health career path,\u201d Maria Esqueda, a Del Valle ISD student, said. \u201cIt will give me insight on what I really want to do and see if I like that field or not at this early point.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students will begin taking classes at the new Academy building beginning Monday, March 19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spectrum News:\u00a0ACC opens Health Sciences Academy By Ashley McElroy &nbsp;| February 28, 2018 @3:18 PM AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Austin-area high school students will have one more place to go to earn college credits.
