{"id":50434,"date":"2020-04-10T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-10T21:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=50434"},"modified":"2024-11-19T16:30:23","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T21:30:23","slug":"support-resources-for-faculty-and-staff-during-the-covid-19-outbreak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2020\/04\/10\/support-resources-for-faculty-and-staff-during-the-covid-19-outbreak\/","title":{"rendered":"Support resources for faculty and staff during the COVID-19 outbreak"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Austin Community College (ACC) offers training sessions, webinars, and support tips to support your transition to remote working, teaching, and learning environments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMOTE WORK<br \/><\/strong>The Office of Information Technology produced the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/austincc.edu\/remote\/acc-virtual-workspace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ACC Virtual Workspace Site<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/austincc.edu\/remote\/getting-started-remotely?authuser=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Getting Started Remotely guide<\/a> with links to resources, videos, and tips on working from home for employees working remotely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING<br \/><\/strong>The Teaching and Learning Excellence Division (TLED) has created a <a href=\"https:\/\/tled.austincc.edu\/teaching-online-continuity-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Teaching Online Continuity Guide<\/a> to help faculty transition to online teaching and learning. Resources include a guide to get started, a chart comparing web conferencing tools, and a list of trainings and webinars that is updated weekly.<\/p>\n<p>TLED has also launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/keepteachingACC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Keep ACC Teaching! Facebook group<\/a> to help foster community and allow faculty and staff to share tips and resources while working remotely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT<br \/><\/strong>The Office of Staff Professional Development and Evaluations developed a LinkedIn Learning&nbsp;page with resources&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/learning\/collections\/enterprise\/1~AAAAAAAjJlo=896040?u=2303578&amp;auth=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">for supervisors and employees to work remotely<\/a>. Employees who do not have access to LinkedIn Learning need to activate their license first. Instructions are listed&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1YFLzRDGGdAFSr50UstApcdooYo5qW-dZkIsVQv_81S0\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>HR also created&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/offices\/human-resources\/supervisor-training-and-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a supervisor page<\/a>&nbsp;dedicated to additional training for them, which is updated weekly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Nonprofit Studies waived nearly all fees for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/o\/center-for-nonprofit-studies-at-acc-17172983256\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online classes<\/a> through the end of May. Offerings include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Several ongoing learning series on self-care, improv skills for work and life, updates and conversation on human resource issues during COVID-19, and virtual compassionate conversation circle.<\/li>\n<li>Classes on collaboration in the midst of COVID, strengths-based leadership, supporting organizations and their leaders in marginalized communities, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>View the full calendar of classes and register <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/o\/center-for-nonprofit-studies-at-acc-17172983256?aff=odeimcmailchimp&amp;mc_cid=3aae524445&amp;mc_eid=bb4321f0a7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HEALTH &amp; WELLNESS<br \/><\/strong>Human Resources now offers wellness classes online. These virtual classes are available to all ACC employees. Pre-registration is not required, and family members are invited to participate as well.
