COVID-19 response<\/strong>
ACC work and classes transitioned to remote environments following the spring break in an effort to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, COVID-19. The college launched an informational webpage \u2014 austincc.edu\/coronavirus<\/a> \u2014 in early February where students, employees, and the community can get up-to-date information and resources.<\/p>\n

ACC donates PPE to regional healthcare workforce<\/strong>
To support the regional healthcare workforce, ACC worked closely with area universities to identify surplus supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE). Faculty and staff districtwide collected materials for donation including gloves, masks, shoe covers, hair covers, and gowns. Surplus supplies were delivered directly to the Austin-based public health consortium that oversees regional distribution. Read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Annual Fairway 5K raises more than $4K for PT students
<\/strong>More than 180 participants took part in ACC’s Annual Fairway 5K at the Riverside Golf Course on Sunday, March 1. The event raised more than $4,000 to benefit The Physical Therapy Scholarship. #AmplifyACC: Nearly $12,000 raised in 24 hours
<\/strong>The ACC Alumni Network raised nearly $12,000 during Amplify Austin, a communitywide day of charitable giving. The funds support the Alumni Network Scholarship<\/a>, ACC’s STEPS Adult Education program<\/a>, Student Emergency Fund<\/a>, Food Pantry program, and Groceries & Gas for Academic Success.<\/p>\n

Adulting 101: Teaching skills beyond the classroom<\/strong>
ACC’s Office of Community Engagement hosted the college’s inaugural Adulting 101: Basic Adult Skills Training session on Tuesday, March 3. About 125 people attended the free event, which included sessions on career exploration, interview skills, college planning, financial planning, healthy living, dressing for success, and car maintenance. February Food Drive<\/strong>
ACC’s Office of Student Life collected more than 60 pounds of canned and non-perishable foods during February. The donated food was used to restock the food pantries located on all ACC campuses.
