Attendees will learn how individuals can cope with these emergent stresses and conflicts on topics including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What do people\u2014including romantic partners\u2014tend to argue about?<\/li>\n<li>Can you solve all your differences?<\/li>\n<li>Why do happy couples have more conflict than those who are struggling?<\/li>\n<li>What does healthy conflict look like?<\/li>\n<li>And how can you turn your inevitable conflicts in almost any relationship into emotional closeness rather than distance?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are living in uncertain times. It\u2019s important we find new ways to let our community know they are not alone,&#8221; says Dr. Shirin Khosropour, ACC Peace &amp; Conflict Studies director. &#8220;Through our discussion, students and community members will learn strategies for conflict transformation and peace-building during a time of heightened public safety concerns over suspected rises in child abuse and documented rises in domestic violence across Texas. Together we can find connections between what is happening in local and global issues and learn how to engage and work through issues during this outbreak.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hosted by ACC&#8217;s Center for Peace and Conflict Studies and ACC\u2019s Student Psychology Club, the event is free and open to the public.
