Here are some ways to keep your life online safe:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biggest things to take away: Passwords and being alert!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Passwords<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Always use multi-factor authentication where you can and change those passwords often.<\/li>\n<li>Make passwords unique and strong by using different symbols, numbers, and characters.<\/li>\n<li>Force a lock screen whenever you are not using your computer, laptop, phone, or tablet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Be Alert<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set your screen timeout to a short period of time.<\/li>\n<li>Be cautious of emails or websites that claim to provide information, pictures, and videos.<\/li>\n<li>Watch for malicious websites. They often imitate legitimate websites, but the URL may use a variation in spelling or a different domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a rise around spear-phishing (targeted phishing attacks) during the financial aid disbursement season. Students should be weary of any communication that requests personal information; ACC and the Federal Government will never ask for personal information via email directly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New issues could arise as more people work and learn from home. You still need to stay alert.
