Austin Community College District (ACC) launches its first-ever Esports league beginning Monday, October 26.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith the Coronavirus pandemic, Intramurals aren\u2019t happening face to face. This gives the students a way to compete in a fun and friendly atmosphere while staying safe,\u201d says Tracy Partin, Student Life coordinator. \u201cIt is exciting for us to offer a brand new program. I think it will continue to grow and offer a format where students can play against each other in fun games. They might even make some new friends!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offered through the college\u2019s Intramural Sports and Recreation, students will compete in a round-robin season of online gaming. Different offerings include Madden 20, NBA2K, Rocket League, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Students must have access to a game and gaming system to compete.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than two dozen students have already signed up to participate. The goal is to expand the program in the coming semesters.
