Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrates more than 3,900 graduates at its fall 2024 commencement ceremony<\/a>. Friends and family are invited to congratulate students at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park on Thursday, December 12.<\/p>\n

One of those students is Cinthia Moctezuma. She is a 22-year-old first-generation female student who began at ACC in 2020. Cinthia, who became a mother during her academic journey, will earn her general studies degree. <\/p>\n

Why did you choose ACC?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I chose ACC to have an opportunity for a better career pathway at the end, without (going) in(to) debt. <\/p>\n

How does it feel to be graduating?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It feels awesome being a first-gen Latina, graduating. I hope making it this far in the future be something my daughter, who is currently 18 months old, is proud of. <\/p>\n

What was your favorite part of ACC?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The accommodations made for online school.<\/p>\n

What is next for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I want to continue courses on Coursera for Data Analyst and find a work-from-home job.<\/p>\n

What would you tell someone considering applying for college?<\/strong><\/p>\n

DO IT! STAY CONSISTENT: there are many resources aside from academics that will help you thrive.<\/p>\n

Anything else you would like to add?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Without my support system I wouldn\u2019t have been able to graduate. I am thankful for how my educational path came to be. I only decided to finish strong because I got pregnant and knew I had to finish strong. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
