{"id":51815,"date":"2025-03-31T16:04:05","date_gmt":"2025-03-31T21:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=51815"},"modified":"2025-03-31T16:04:06","modified_gmt":"2025-03-31T21:04:06","slug":"ai-fools-week-learn-about-ai-security-privacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2025\/03\/31\/ai-fools-week-learn-about-ai-security-privacy\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Fools Week: Learn About AI Security &amp; Privacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Austin Community College District\u2019s (ACC) InfoSec team \u2014 a division of the IT Department \u2014 hosts AI Fools Week March 31 through April 4.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This one-week awareness campaign was created by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staysafeonline.org\/resources\/online-safety-and-privacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Cybersecurity Alliance<\/a> to help educate the public about AI security and privacy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAI is changing how we work, communicate, and navigate the digital world,\u201d says Emilie Kunze, Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance Manager. \u201cAs artificial intelligence becomes more powerful, scammers use it to craft convincing deepfakes, impersonate trusted contacts, and trick people into sharing sensitive information. Meanwhile, millions of people are unknowingly feeding AI tools private or work-related data without understanding where it goes. This week gives us an opportunity to share helpful tips, tools, and resources to stay safe with AI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the week, the InfoSec team will shine a light on AI\u2019s role in education, work, and everyday life\u2014while uncovering common AI misconceptions and challenges.
