As of the end of March, the project is approximately 15% complete, with site development work well underway.<\/p>\n<p>Crews have demolished Parking Lot D and much of the surrounding infrastructure to make way for new facilities. Major underground work is nearly finished. New stormwater, domestic water, and sanitary sewer lines have been installed beneath the site in preparation for new construction.<\/p>\n<p>Work is now focused on preparing the foundations for two new buildings.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The foundation area for <strong>Building 5500<\/strong> has been excavated to a depth of 11 feet and filled with layers of compacted material to support the new concrete slab. The building will house programs in advanced manufacturing, HVAC, and a semiconductor training program to be funded by an award received from the Federal Chips Grant.<\/li>\n<li>Excavation for <strong>Building 4000<\/strong> is underway and expected to be completed within the next few weeks. Designs for gas and power connections are currently under review with ATMOS Energy and Oncor Electric.<\/p>\n<p>The next major step will be forming the foundation for Building 5500. By the end of April, the foundation is expected to be ready for vertical construction.<\/p>\n<p>This expansion is part of ACC\u2019s <strong>2022 General Obligation Bond<\/strong> projects.
