October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month<\/strong><\/a>, an international initiative that highlights the steps everyone can take to stay safe online. Austin Community College District (ACC) joins the national campaign led by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to highlight simple, everyday steps faculty, staff, and students can take to stay safe online.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme is \u201cStay Safe Online.\u201d The campaign focuses on four simple actions that make a big difference:<\/p>\n

  1. Use strong passwords<\/li>\n
  2. Turn on multifactor authentication<\/li>\n
  3. Update your software<\/li>\n
  4. Recognize and report scams<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    ACC offers year-round resources to help faculty, staff, and students protect themselves online. Learn more at austincc.edu\/accinfosec<\/a>. <\/p>\n

    The College provides training for students who are looking to get into the field of cybersecurity, from credentials through the Continuing Education Department, to an associate degree<\/a>, all the way to a bachelor\u2019s degree<\/a>. <\/p>\n

    ACC\u2019s Cybersecurity bachelor\u2019s degree program is uniquely designed for professionals with a related associate degree, including those transitioning directly to a four-year degree or those in the workforce. The program offers flexible learning options with face-to-face, hybrid, and distance education classes across the district.\u00a0<\/p>\n
