Community colleges play a pivotal role in expanding the pipeline of nurses, technicians, and other health professionals who keep hospitals, clinics, and communities running.<\/p>\n<p>Austin Community College District (ACC) invites prospective students, families, and the community to explore high-demand healthcare careers during a free Health Sciences Open House at ACC\u2019s Eastview Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The event highlights ACC\u2019s growing role as a regional workforce engine\u2014educating and training nurses, dental hygienists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals essential to meeting Central Texas\u2019 healthcare needs.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health Science Open House<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Date:<\/strong> Saturday, February 28, 2026<br \/><strong>Time:<\/strong> 10 a.m. \u2013 1 p.m.<br \/><strong>Location: <\/strong>ACC Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road<br \/><strong>RSVP:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/campaigns.austincc.edu\/events\/health-sciences-open-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>austincc.edu\/healthcareers<\/strong> <\/a>+ <a href=\"https:\/\/campaigns.austincc.edu\/events\/evento-de-puertas-abiertas-sobre-carreras-en-ciencias-de-la-salud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>austincc.edu\/salud<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event is free and open to everyone. RSVPs are encouraged.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tour ACC\u2019s state-of-the-art health sciences labs and simulation spaces<\/li>\n<li>Meet faculty, students, and industry partners<\/li>\n<li>Explore hands-on demonstrations across multiple healthcare programs<\/li>\n<li>Learn about admissions, financial aid, and career pathways<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy family-friendly activities while discovering healthcare careers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gov.texas.gov\/uploads\/files\/press\/2024.10.01_-_Healthcare_Workforce_Report_FINAL_v4_.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to the Texas Health Care Workforce Task Force<\/a>, expanding \u201cgateway\u201d healthcare roles\u2014such as aides, technicians, and health professionals\u2014is essential to strengthening patient care statewide and building sustainable career pathways into nursing and advanced clinical roles. ACC\u2019s programs are designed to do exactly that, offering affordable, stackable credentials that allow students to enter the workforce quickly while continuing their education.<\/p>\n<p>ACC offers more than 15 health sciences programs, including nursing, dental hygiene, radiology, sonography, surgical technology, veterinary technology, and other allied health fields that serve as critical entry points into the healthcare workforce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expanding the Healthcare Pipeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ACC is responding by expanding healthcare education and training capacity, modernizing learning environments, and strengthening pathways into high-demand careers.
