Looking to add a furry family member this summer? Austin Community College District’s (ACC) Veterinary Technology Program has cats and dogs ready to find their forever homes.<\/p>\n

Each adoptable pet receives comprehensive medical care while participating in ACC’s Veterinary Technology Program. Under the supervision of licensed professionals, Veterinary Technology students provide hands-on care that includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, flea and heartworm prevention, daily enrichment, and basic training.<\/p>\n

    1. Schedule a Visit<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Fill out the interest form<\/a>, and one of the Vet Tech Program Staff members will contact you to schedule a visit<\/p>\n

      1. \u00a0Meet the Pets<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Spend time with the available cats and dogs to find the right fit for your family and lifestyle.<\/p>\n

        1. Complete an Application<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Submit an adoption application and pay a small adoption fee that helps offset the cost of care.<\/p>\n

          1. Welcome Them Home<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Pets are ready to go home at the end of the academic semester after completing their veterinary care and training.<\/p>\n

            The animals come from local and rural shelters throughout Central Texas. Every adoption gives a pet a second chance while creating space for shelters to rescue and care for even more animals. At the same time, it provides ACC Veterinary Technology students with invaluable real-world clinical experience before entering the workforce.<\/p>\n
