Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 with a series of events and conversations across the district and online. This year is extra special to ACC as its Latin American Cultural Center, El Centro, celebrates its 30th anniversary. <\/p>\n

Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates the history, culture, traditions, and contributions of people and their ancestors from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.<\/p>\n

All events are free and open to the community.<\/p>\n

The Write Mind with Jasminne Mendez<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday, September 15 | 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. | El Centro, Riverside Campus<\/p>\n

Hear from Jasminne Mendez, a Pura Belpr\u00e9 Honor Award recipient and a Dominican American poet, playwright, and author of several books for children and adults. She is also a poet, playwright, translator, and professional audiobook narrator. <\/p>\n
