DIR Program

Department of Informational Resources Internship Program

Austin Community College is partnering with The Department of Informational Resources to assist local state agencies in hiring and funding internships for ACC students in Computer Science, Business, Government, Technical Communication Studies.

Student within these program areas can be hired as contract interns by state agencies (and other contracting government agencies) ACC is the employer of record for these hourly employees, then bills the agencies to cover the wages. The agencies use contractor budgets rather than personnel FTE budgets, so there are fewer restrictions on hiring, and the HR turnaround is much shorter.

Dr. Sam Greer, Director of Cooperative Education and Internships, will function as the principal for supervision/ACC HR purposes. He is the designated single point of contact for all state agencies seeking interns.
