Sean Perry is an Austin-based photographer creating atmospheric portraits of the built environment across Texas, New York, and Japan.<\/p>\n

His work is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Harry Ransom Center, Wittliff Collections, Yale’s Haas Arts Library, Seattle Art Museum, and the Menil Collection. He was a 2009 Hasselblad Masters Finalist.<\/p>\n

Two of his limited edition books\u2014Transitory<\/em> (2006) and Fairgrounds<\/em> (2008)\u2014were featured as a case study in Publish Your Photography Book<\/em> (Princeton Architectural Press, 2011 & 2014). Editorial commissions include The New York Times Magazine, Billboard, and New York.<\/p>\n

Perry joined Austin Community College in 2001 and has served as Department Chair of Photography & Visual Media since 2018. He is a recipient of the John & Suanne Roueche Excellence Award.<\/p>\n
