To be clear, this project goes well beyond traditional web redesign. It is an opportunity to improve how we communicate, expand collaboration, and prepare for the world of AI.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Project Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improve Workflow<\/li>\n<li>Improve the User Experience<\/li>\n<li>Improve Functionality &amp; Security<\/li>\n<li>Improve Accessibility<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 Project Phases<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To truly improve the user experience across the College\u2019s website, the redesign will touch all aspects of the College\u2019s online presence. The project breaks down into five phases of work to over a period of three years. Phases 1 &amp; 2 are the public-facing components that will be completed first.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Phase 1: Public-Facing\/Top-Tier<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Austin Community College is one college. The purpose of phase 1 is to create one brand-forward website with a consistent, seamless web experience designed for the end-users.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Primary Goal :<\/strong> To generate new student leads and grow community support\/ambassadors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Intended Audience<\/strong>: Prospective students, families, and the community (partners, alumni\/donors, future employees, taxpayers, and media).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Solicitation for Request for Proposals (RFP #1 &#8211; Phases 1 &amp; 2)<\/strong>: Hire the best web U\/X and U\/I design firm to partner with college experts in developing the public-facing, top two tiers of the website.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Establish Working Team(s): <\/strong>Key stakeholders, including web experts, subject matter experts, and end-users (target audience).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Discovery, Research &amp; Planning<\/strong>: Web audit, market and audience research, stakeholder engagement, goals, scope of work, timeline, and key performance indicators.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Content Strategy and Optimization<\/strong>: Information architecture, wireframes, voice, messages, journeys, key design elements (visual language), and content placement.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Design and Development:<\/strong>Website build to ensure accessibility, functionality, and search engine optimization.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Testing: <\/strong>User testing, feedback, and adjustments..<\/li>\n<li><strong>Templates &amp; Training:<\/strong> Create standards, guidelines, and templates to assist ACC\u2019s web teams.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Launch &amp; Monitor: <\/strong>As web improvements are made, they will go live, we will monitor performance and make necessary adjustments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Phase 2: Student-Centric\/Second-Tier<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The redesign of the second tier happens simultaneously with the top tier. Working in tandem with our Theory of Change Design Teams and subject matter experts,&nbsp; the purpose is to improve ease of access to ACC information and resources by designing a centralized, convenient hub for the user (our students) while laying the foundation for a future student portal..<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Primary Goal<\/strong>: To increase student engagement, persistence, and completions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Intended Audience<\/strong>: Current ACC students.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Steps<\/strong>: See above.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"list\"><p class=\"trigger\"><a href=\"#\">Phase 3: Student Portal Development<\/a><\/p><div class=\"toggle_container\"><div class=\"block\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For our website to function properly, we must separate public- and private\/internal-facing information and design a centralized website. The purpose is to develop an effective student portal system that aligns seamlessly with the student information system (SIS)\u2014 a single sign-on point for easy access to personalized information, notifications, and resources. By moving student-related information, resources, and documents to a portal system that requires authentication, we can improve the user experience, tighten security, and build a more effective public-facing website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Primary Goal: <\/strong>To improve student communication, engagement, and ultimately completion.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Intended Audience<\/strong>: Current ACC Students<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Steps:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Solicitation for Request for Proposals (RFP #2)<\/strong>: Hire the best web development firm to partner with college experts in developing the student portal in alignment with the SIS project.
