The primary source for a program map is the catalog award plan. As of catalog 2019-2020, program maps have been generated fully online and maintained in the Curriculum Management System<\/a> (CMS) system, by catalog year. Each award plan’s program map is listed in the CMS Award Plans listing, next to their corresponding award plan. Program Maps are also listed by their respective dean’s School in CMS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The current catalog’s program maps are linked to ACC’s online catalog page Degrees & Certificates Listing by Award Type<\/a>, to ACC’s Academic Program Award Plans and Program Maps<\/a> page, and within ACC’s Academic & Career Programs<\/a> site, all for public viewing.<\/p>\n

Please Note:<\/strong> Once an award plan has been approved for inclusion in the catalog, any additional revisions<\/strong>, such as to the department name, award plan title, award type, course information\/credit hours, and prerequisite\/corequisite courses, must first be approved by the<\/strong> Curriculum & Programs Committee<\/a> before the award plan’s program map can be updated since these changes affect the catalog. For any questions, please contact Georgia Branch, gbranch@austincc.edu<\/a>. For all other edits to a program map, follow the process below.<\/p>\n

Update a current program map<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. The following updates can be processed without Curriculum & Programs Committee approval:
    \u2013 Department Chair contact information
    \u2013 Department Website
    \u2013 Program (Award Plan) Description
    \u2013 Pre-Degree Requirements
    \u2013 Program (Award Plan) Course Information, Credit Hour Typos
    \u2013 Advising Notes (Award Plan Footnote) Typos
    \u2013 Transfer Information
    \u2013 Career Information<\/li>\n
  2. Submit edits and update(s) to a Program Map via the Program Map Update Form<\/a> and attach any supporting\/clarifying documentation, if needed.<\/li>\n
  3. See note above regarding all other updates that require Curriculum and Programs Committee approval. Refer to the Schedule Development – Home<\/a> page for proposal packet documentation requirements.<\/li>\n
  4. If there are any questions about the requested updates, the requester will be contacted.<\/li>\n
  5. Updates to a program map are generally processed within one week.<\/li>\n
  6. Notification will be sent to the requester that edits are completed and the program map has been updated.<\/li>\n
  7. The requester will be expected to proof the updated program map to verify edits were applied correctly and to provide feedback, if needed, to Georgia Branch via email: gbranch@austincc.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Create a program map for a new award<\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. Develop the new award plan to be included in your proposal packet documentation for the Curriculum & Programs Committee<\/a> meeting agenda binder by following the established guidelines: Guidelines for New Program Maps<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. After the new award plan has been approved through the Curriculum & Programs Committee (and any other approvals as needed), it will first be entered into the Curriculum Management System (CMS) and then into the Ellucian degree audit system. The corresponding program map is automatically generated based on the award plan information entered into both systems (CMS and Ellucian). Note: the Career Information and Transfer Information will still need to be populated by their respective departments. Follow-up by the Department Chair may be needed to expedite the process.<\/li>\n
    3. The new program map will be available via the catalog award plan pages in CMS and the corresponding academic program page<\/a>. It will also be accessible via Academic Program Award Plans and Program Maps<\/a> page.<\/li>\n
    4. Notification is sent to the requester that the approved program map has been added to CMS and the new program map is available online.<\/li>\n
    5. The requester should proof the updated program map available in CMS<\/a> to verify accuracy and provide feedback, if needed, to Georgia Branch via email: gbranch@austincc.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
