The Welding Technology Department at Austin Community College offers a variety of awards to prepare our students for the many careers available in the field of welding. We train students to weld in accordance with the standards of several codes, including the American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Steel Code, the API 1104, and the ASME Section IX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our Multiple Process Welding Occupational Skills Award stacks into our college credit certificate in Structural Welding, which leads into the Pipe Welding Certificate. All of those courses apply toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Code Welding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Program Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Technical welding courses can be taken at either the Riverside<\/a> or the Round Rock Campus<\/a>. Some courses are offered only at the Round Rock Campus. They are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Program Costs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ACC charges tuition and fees based on the student\u2019s residency. Since those students living within our taxing district <\/a>already support the college through their taxes, they pay the lowest fees. See full tuition and fees information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An in district student will pay $391 for each 4 credit hour welding course in the technical welding programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An out of district student will pay $1,195 for each 4 credit hour welding course in the technical welding programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An out of state student will pay $1727 for each 4 credit hour welding course in the technical welding programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to tuition and fees, students are required to purchase certain supplies and tools. The required list varies by course. The full list can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The textbook which is required for most courses in the technical welding programs is Welding Principles and Applications by Larry Jeffus<\/a>. This book is in its 9th edition. The book Metallurgy<\/span> is required for WLDG 1337 Welding Metallurgy.
