Spring 2026 – Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People
by Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald
In the Spring 2026 semester, the AAPI Book Club will read and discuss Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People by Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald. In this book, Banaji and Greenwald examine the unconscious biases we absorb over a lifetime—biases shaped by cultural attitudes toward age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, class, sexuality, disability, and nationality. Drawing on their research, they demonstrate how these hidden perceptions shape our judgments of others and provide strategies for more effectively recognizing and countering the stereotypes built into our minds.
