Ignacio has worked at Austin Community College in IT support since 2010 at The Rio Grande Campus as a Senior IT Computer Support Technician. At the Rio Grande Campus he was the primary contact for IT Support for Faculty and Staff. He was tasked with maintaining the computers and network for the Rio Grande Campus. He also supported the Riverside Campus, Eastview Campus, Highland Business Center, South Austin Campus when needed.
During the renovation of Rio Grande Campus Building 1000. He was the main contact for removing all IT related equipment during the abatement process and then setup all the computers after the renovation. He was also part of the ACC team that worked on getting the Army Futures Command computers and networking setup at the Rio Grande Campus.
He currently supervises and supports Arts and Digital Media Technology team.
Nacho has a B.A.T. in Workforce leadership from University of Texas Brownsville/Texas Southmost College and an A.A.S. in Information Management Technology from Texas State Technical College.
Before ACC, Nacho worked for Texas State Technical College-Harlingen as their Teaching Lab Assistant for The Computer Systems Maintenance Program where he taught computer classes and took care of the programs network and computer equipment. While teaching dual enrollment classes, he had students compete in the SkillsUSA competition where he consistently had students consistently placing 2nd and 3rd place at local competitions and would have students represent the Rio Grande Valley in state competitions. One year he had students win the SkillsUSA state competition and those students were able to represent Texas at the national level. He also got to judge a few SkillsUSA competitions when he did not have any students competing.
He also worked at NINOS Head Start Inc. as their IT support tech. and was also contractor for the SABRE Travel network.
Outside of ACC Nacho has enjoys being out and about attending festivals, concerts, and car shows. Formula 1 is one of the events he looks forward to every year in Austin and tries to attend when possible.
