AFA Executive Council January Meeting Update

AFA Executive Council met on January 24.  (The meeting minutes will be posted on the AFA website once approved.)  Guest speaker, Dr. Matthew Daude Laurents, Dean of Liberal Arts presented an overview of the eStaffing system.  He highly recommended that adjunct faculty use the “Review of Staffing” procedure (Administrative Rule 4.06.002) to investigate eStaffing issues experienced by adjuncts:

Any member of the Adjunct Faculty who believes that this Administrative Rule has not
been properly implemented may request a Procedural Review in accord with
Administrative Rule 4.06.005, Review of Adjunct Faculty Administrative Rules.

The AFA Compensation Committee reported its continuous effort to advocate for an adjustment of adjuncts’ LEH (“lecture equivalent hour”) rate that is comparable to the full-time faculty’s LEH rate.
