College’s Discussion on Video Teleconferencing Tools

The Administration is considering streamlining the college’s use of the video teleconferencing (VTC) tools. The recommendations are 1) use Zoom by the college as a collaboration tool; 2) use Blackboard Collaborate by faculty as a distance learning tool; and 3) use Zoom for distance learning on an exception basis.
To allow faculty the opportunity to weigh in on this matter, Dr. Cook, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, has asked the Faculty Senate to design and survey faculty on the functionalities of the tools required for teaching and learning.  The Administration plans to distribute, collect, and analyze survey results prior to the Thanksgiving holidays. The results will be used to evaluate the recommendations.
