Minutes of TF meeting August 21, 2014

Welcome and Introduction of our newest members:

Administrative reminders:
• Check your rosters carefully- no students not on roster may attend class
• Check your ADA and SHT compliance dates
• Remember to add a last date attended for all “F’s” on final grade sheet
• Certify official class rosters by official reporting dates

The Emeritus Professor Lecture will be Oct. 18th at EVC under Andres’ and Cam’s leadership.

If Turnitin catches a plagiarized paper, please send a copy to Cam for a SafeAssign comparison.

Constitution Day will be Sept. 23rd at 6:00pm in Palmer Events Center with David Lauderback representing the Department.

The Faculty Senate accomplished a number of important things last year under Terry’s leadership and she was thanked for an outstanding job.

The Student Historical Society has again been recognized by Student Services and will meet under Melissa Bonafont’s leadership.

The Department of History unanimously elected Dr. Charles Cook, the Provost of the College, historian, and former Professor of History at Houston Community College, as an honorary member of the Department with the rights to attend our meetings and vote on all issues.

The Department sincerely hopes that he will become a regular member of the Department by teaching a History course with us as an Adjunct Faculty member.
