Bond Projects Update: Elgin, Hays, Round Rock, Rio Grande, and San Gabriel

Work is progressing on voter-approved bond projects districtwide. Read summaries below and stay-up-to-date on each project through the ACC Bond Construction Projects website.

Round Rock Phase 2

The parking lot is complete and open to the public. Landscaping work for additional portables is complete. The elevator is being installed.

Rio Grande Renovation

As of November 21, the non-structural demolition and abatement of Bldg. 1000 is 60 percent complete. The third floor and second floor are completely cleaned out. All hazardous materials have been removed from those floors. The abatement subcontractor, ARC Abatement, is working on the first floor and will move down the basement during winter intersession. All non-structural demolition and abatement will be completed by the end of March 2018, and the renovation of the building will begin. The construction phase will continue for two years.

Elgin Campus Phase 2

Phase 2 is on track to open for spring semester. Construction is wrapping up and is expected to be complete by the end of this month. Furniture is planned to be installed before winter break. Faculty will move in after the break to complete equipment set-up and training.

Hays Campus Phase 2

On November 15 a topping out ceremony was held at Hays Campus to celebrate the halfway point of construction. Read more>>

San Gabriel

Installation of electrical fixtures commenced this month and permanent power to the building was established on November 21. Installation of drywall and insulation on all three levels continued. Waterproofing work continued this month and is near completion. The installation of the hydraulic elevator commenced. The concrete subcontractor continued to form and place curb and gutter, sidewalks, and concrete paving.
