Stephen Bassett has devoted his career to higher education student success. After gaining his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Computer Information Systems, Stephen worked in the private programming world for 4 years. Learning a lot, but not feeling as though he was really making a change in the world, Stephen changed his career goals and found an employer who needed a technician with a customer service edge: the Austin Community College Round Rock Campus’ Learning Labs.
This was the perfect job at the perfect time for Stephen; he excelled having students come to him with his/her technical problems and helping them solve them. After two years, Stephen earned a job working as a Computer Support Supervisor, looking over the Cypress Creek Campus’ Computer and Information Technology Lab. He has been moved around, first to the Eastview and Riverside Campus, then finally to the Round Rock and flagship Highland Campus’ CIT Labs.
In August of 2015, Stephen received his Masters of Education with a Major in Management of Technical Studies. He became an adjunct in the Spring of 2016, teaching EDUC 1300 Effective Learning: Strategies for College Success.
Stephen is married to his wife Lauren and they have two young sons, who keep him busy in his free time.
