Programming Track

In the Programming Track, you specialize in such areas as web server installation and management, Perl, JavaScript, Java, web databases, ASP, and more.

If you are brand new to programming, you should take Introduction to Programming Languages (does not count as any required or elective class for the Webmaster Certificate, but should be taken by non-programmers prior to enrolling in any programming class).

Required courses

  • Introduction to WWW Authoring, HTML, and CSS
  • Intermediate WWW Authoring, HTML, and CSS
  • Dreamweaver 1: Introduction
  • Capstone Project (This will be the final course, after all requirements and electives have been completed)

in addition to the above courses, you must complete any four of the following:

  • Perl Programming for the Web
  • JavaScript Programming
  • AJAX
  • Java Programming: Part I
  • Java Programming: Part II
  • Java Programming: Part III
  • Web Applications with ASP.NET Part I
  • Web Applications with ASP.NET Part II
  • Web Applications with ASP.NET Part III
  • PHP
  • JSP
  • C # and the .Net Platform*

Electives

You must take at least three of the following:

  • Photoshop 1: Introduction
  • Photoshop 2: Advanced Web Design
  • Interface Design and Usability
  • Advanced Web Authoring and HTML

  • Introduction to E-Commerce
  • Programming for E-Commerce Websites
