Communications and Outreach Committee

Advises campus representatives about communications with their assigned campuses and creates flyers and other materials for campus reps to distribute.

Compensation Committee

Continues in our decades-long quest for fair and equitable compensation. All things relating to reimbursement and compensation are included in this committee, including healthcare, mileage reimbursement, mentor and other “on-task” roles of adjuncts, and class enrollment caps. Also works with the Survey Committee to gather information about all of the above concerns.

Fundraising Committee

Works with the college-wide Emergency Fund Committee to host a fundraising event to benefit the Employee Emergency Fund.

Pathways Committee

Creates a presentation for the Board of Trustees that would detail how adjuncts would like a pathway to full-time teaching employment and/or more stable employment for those who don’t want to work full-time. Also works with the Survey Committee to gather information about how adjuncts want to approach these proposed pathways.

Survey Committee

Creates and distributes surveys for all adjuncts in order to collect data relating to the concerns of the above committees. At least two surveys should be created: one at the end of the fall semester and another at the end of the spring semester. Ideally, a third survey will be sent to adjuncts during the last week of August.

Welcome Committee

Creates a flyer for campus reps to distribute during the first week of classes each semester directing adjuncts to the AFA website and other important information. Also coordinates with the Treasurer and campus reps to ensure that meet and greet protocol is followed and that the meet and greets are scheduled prior to the deadline.
