Austin Community College District (ACC) continues to make progress on the Round Rock Campus Applied Technology expansion. This is one of the projects funded through the College’s 2022 General Obligation Bond. As of early October, construction is approximately 35% complete.
The project stretches across two buildings on campus. At the first building, all structural steel has been erected, marking a major milestone for the project. Crews are now working on constructing the masonry walls along the building’s perimeter and interior. That phase is currently about 20% complete.

Meanwhile, structural steel erection at the second building is scheduled to begin in early October and continue through the end of the month.
Key infrastructure work continues:
- Chilled water piping has been inspected and approved for full burial.
- Installation of a sand and oil water separator is underway.
- In mid-October, crews will begin trenching and installing a permanent electrical duct bank.
When complete, the Applied Technology expansion will provide advanced labs and learning spaces for high-demand programs such as construction, HVAC, and welding — expanding opportunities for hands-on workforce training in one of the fastest-growing regions in Central Texas.
