About CBEC

CBEC is part of a Perkins Grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. We are a consortium of colleges and universities who share our experiences with each other to create CBE course material. These programs will conform to high educational standards, encouraging all Texans to seek and succeed in attaining a higher level of education and supporting strong growth of business by training future employees.

The Competency-Based Education Consortium (CBEC) is a partnership of Texas institutions of higher education, tasked with sharing best practices of their experience of competency-based educational formats. These institutions include Alamo Colleges, Austin Community College District, Collin College and Lone Star College System.
