Luke Armstrong earned his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego with a double major in Economics and Political Science/Public Policy and minor in History. His interest in understanding the formation of policy from different influences led to his multidisciplinary approach to undergraduate work. In addition to his studies, he was the president of the UCSD rugby team and was selected as a USA Rugby Collegiate First-Team All American. Before and during his graduate school work, he spent 4 years working full-time in a neuropsychologist’s office with students with learning disabilities, which is where he developed a passion for assisting the learning of others. He earned his M.A. in Economics from San Diego State University, where he also completed a Community College Teaching Certificate. The focus of his graduate school research was in labor economics, specifically analyzing influences on worker wages. After spending 4 years teaching economics part-time at SDSU, Grossmont College, ACC, and the Alamo Colleges, he spent 12 years as a full-time faculty member at Lee College in Baytown, Texas before joining ACC full-time in 2017. Outside of work, he is proud to live in a household with 3 beautiful, smart princesses
