The 2014-2015 academic year has been a year of change. In June, I transferred from the Pinnacle to the South Austin Campus. I have worked to establish myself at SAC. I attended the SAC stammtisch meetings, sent emails, and introduced myself to faculty/staff.
We have had two upgrades to Blackboard. First, to Blackboard 9.1 SP13 which was a major change. Second, to SP14 which is a minor update. All of the Instructional Design Specialist worked with faculty for a smooth transition.
There was a significant change to the Respondus Lock-Down Browser setting in Blackboard. The option to “Lock the student into the browser…” must be enabled. A major effort was completed to inform faculty/staff and Testing Center staff. Revisions were made to the Testing Center workshop. Respondus workshop, English Departmental directions, Testing Center test transmittal form, Blackboard 2 handout, and Testing Center directions.
Workshops were developed: Using the ACC Testing Centers, Virtual Study Groups: Peer Power, Respondus Desktop Application and Blackboard Respondus LockDown Brower Tool (converted online to interactive face-to-face workshop), Tech Playground Faculty Resource Center Software Applications, and Blackboard Collaborate Voice Tools webinars.
Speech faculty were assisted in the creation of an audio test via the voice board. Ten interpersonal scenario prompts were recorded and students responded privately to the instructor. This was a unique use of the voice board.
