The No Parachute Music Group Showcase held March 10 at the RoadHouse Rags in South Austin was one of several free music events held during South by Southwest.

BLACK OWL SOCIETY — The trio performs at the No Parachute Music Group Showcase March 10 at the RoadHouse Rags venue in South Austin. Singer/ Songwriter “Buffalo” leads the group in Native American style Blues that is unique to the band. Drummer Mark Riddick and guitarist Ryan Johnson provide the beat and the backup for this Buffalo’s oringinal scores.

FRONT MAN — Singer/ songwriter “Buffalo” performs with the “Black Owl Society” at the No Parachute Music Group showcase on Sunday March 10, 2013. His original songs of Native American Blues style of music had a strong beat and talked about life’s troubles.
Buffalo moved to Austin to create his own band and style of music. He has previously played with the band “Indigenous” including an appearance on the Conan O’Brien show.

 Mighty Landsharks
DYNAMIC DUO — Guitar players Tom Goff (left) and Chris Harrison lead the Mighty Landsharks at the “No Parachute Music Group” Showcase on Sunday March 10 at the Roadhouse Rag. The Austin based Mighty Landsharks are a 4 piece instrumental group specializing Surf, Spy, Hot Rod and Spaghetti Western styles of music. Not pictured are drummer Michael Bahan and bass player Aaron Kocurek.

COOL RIFF — Guitar player Jed Rogers of the group “Josh Lightnin’ and the Lone Star Drifters” whoops it up for the band’s show for the No Parachute Music Group Showcase March 10 at the Roadhouse Rag. The bands tunes of country and Honky Tonk were lively and original. Also supporting lead singer and guitar player Josh Lightnin’ is keyboard player John Carbone, guitar player Matt Thomas, Drummer Russ Patterson, and bass player Sean McNulty.

HONKY TONK MUSIC — Josh Lightnin and the Lone Star Drifters played their own style of Country/ Honky Tonk music at the No Parachute Music Group showcase Sunday March 10 at the Roadhouse Rag. This Austin band writes their own music and encourage dancing to their tunes. Lead singer Josh Lightnin is supported by (left to right) keyboard player John Carbone, guitar player Matt Thomas, drummer Russ Patterson, bass player Sean McNulty and guitar player Jed Rogers.
