ACC Becomes the First Adobe Creative Community College Campus in the Nation
Students at Austin Community College now have an extensive range of options to increase their digital skills, thanks to the new partnership between ACC and Adobe. Adobe’s suite of programs will provide students with cutting edge creative tools to become better communicators in a variety of media. As a result, they will be more competitive in the vibrant technology hub located in Central Texas and beyond.
Tom Nevill, Dean of Arts and Digital Media at ACC, played an essential role in forming this partnership. He says, “The Adobe Creative Campus Program means more faculty can develop immersive projects for the classroom and our students can graduate with advanced skills that will put them ahead in the modern workplace.”
Adobe Creative Cloud is a platform which allows everyone to tell their own stories in a visually compelling manner. Adobe’s cloud-connected applications for desktop and mobile devices enhance creative problem solving, collaboration, and overall efficiency when creating documents, imagery, video, and audio.
These experiences are vital for students to become the kind of skilled employees our rapidly-evolving job market demands. As Stephen Marshall, Adobe Digital Literacy Thought Leader says, “The workforce of the future expects students to be great communicators but also be comfortable in the digital space.”
We encourage students to take advantage of these resources and enhance their skills in using these digital tools enabling them to solve problems, produce innovative projects, and enhance communications. The end result? They will be prepared for the challenges of an evolving workplace and become vital contributors to their communities.
The suite of programs is available for $10 per semester for ACC students enrolled in class designated in the catalog as “Adobe eligible;” $50 per semester for all others. For more information contact Matt Evins, [email protected], (512) 223-7564 https://www.austincc.edu/adobe.
