Join the Alliance of Future Makers
The future isn’t something that just happens. It’s something we create together.
The Alliance of Future Makers is a national innovation sandbox, a space where educators, administrators, and institutional leaders can test bold ideas, confront the sector’s hardest challenges, and pressure test solutions before the stakes get higher. By joining the Alliance of Future Makers, you’ll gain the skills, insights, and community you need to not only keep up with change, but to lead it. Whether you’re building solutions on the ground or setting direction from the top, the Alliance can equip you to make smarter decisions today for a better tomorrow.
- Connect with a nationwide community of innovators and leaders, a vibrant “futurist tribe,” all working to design what is next for the sector.
- Gain foresight tools to track emerging trends, from hands-on scenario design to institution-wide strategy.
- Test solutions to the sector’s most persistent challenges in a space built for candor, collaboration, and shared learning.
- Build the skills and networks to anticipate change and lead innovation with confidence.
Why Join AFM?
The challenges facing higher education today are too complex, and too consequential, for any single role or level to solve alone. When you join AFM, you are no longer solving these problems in isolation. You are pressure testing ideas alongside peers who are facing the same pressures, at the same scale, and taking home solutions built and proven together rather than worked out alone. It is where practice informs strategy, and where the solutions you help shape return home with you to change what is possible at your
own institution.
- Gain foresight tools and frameworks to translate emerging trends into action, whether you are executing at the program level or steering institutional direction.
- Build your futurist toolkit through a proven model of structured experimentation, so you can anticipate change and innovate with confidence.
- Join a national network of practitioners and leaders confronting the same pressures you are, and lean on that community for support, accountability, and ideas that keep working long after you leave the room.
- Leave with strategies and solutions tested alongside peers, ready to put to work at your own institution and move it forward.
Who Should Join
Membership is open to everyone. The Alliance offers three professional development tracks. The Fellows Track supports scholar practitioners who are building the skills to design and implement change at their institutions. The Administration Track supports college and university senior administrators in leading innovation and cultivating the conditions for it across their institutions. The President/CEO Circle is a gathering of thought leaders from around the country to collaborate solutions. Together, we’re building a community focused support team to plan now for the future.
