A national student movement where every person has the opportunity, the platform, and the community to shape the future of their institution, their industry, and their world.

Mission

The Alliance of Student Future Makers equips students to lead change now, not just prepare for it later. We give students a real seat at the table alongside AFM’s institutional leaders, so the ideas students bring to the sandbox are ideas they helped build.

The What?

The Alliance of Student Future Makers is the student arm of the Alliance of Future Makers (AFM), a national program working across higher education to design and test bold solutions to the sector’s hardest problems. As a member, you join a growing community of student volunteers and future minded builders who help plan, run, and shape AFM’s national events, including the Summit of Future Makers, NEST FEST, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation Academy events.

By participating, you will:

• Join a formal pathway built for students who want more than a one time volunteer shift, including a dedicated community and badges that recognize your growing contributions
• Gain a seat at the table: selected student representatives are invited to AFM operational meetings each quarter to help shape how programs are designed
• Build real experience in event leadership, program design, and cross institutional collaboration
• Connect with over 120 students across the country who are already part of this community
• Grow a national network of peers, mentors, and institutional leaders who are actively building the future of higher education

What to Expect

Once you express interest, you will be added to the Alliance of Student Future Makers community and connected with our team to identify where your interests and availability fit best. From there, you can volunteer at national events, apply for a quarterly student representative seat, and earn badges as you take on more responsibility. This is a “build with, not for” community: your voice shapes how these programs run, not just how they are delivered.
