Good morning and Happy New Year!

While the Bioscience Incubator has been monitoring our growth and that of our industry and stakeholders since its inception, this year we put additional effort into understanding the Incubator’s overall impact.

We gathered data from both our current member companies and alumni network, as well as workforce information from students who have spent time working at ABI. From the companies, we asked about their size, location, current and past funding and their involvement with the college (hiring students, collaborations etc). From the students, we asked about how they were involved with ABI (working directly for us, or for member companies), what their impression of that experience was, as well as where they have gone since leaving. We wanted to know if they are working in the industry and for whom, if they are moving up and if they are being paid industry standard. We also asked if their training prepared them for the job(s) that they have held. I certainly wish that we had gotten a 100% response rate to our surveys, but I am very happy with the responses that we received. Not only did we get the info that we sought, we got inundated with kind words about the impact ABI has had on them…both students and companies.

We have compiled a significant amount of information, but are sharing the subset that we thought you would find interesting and relevant to the hard work that ACC has and continues to put towards growing the college. I hope that you find it informative and gratifying to the organization that took a gamble on a life science incubator.

I am happy to discuss any of the information included, or to provide additional data that might be of interest.

Nancy
