INRW Department TSIA 1.0 & 2.0 Placement Chart (Effective 2/2023)

Prior to placement, nonnative speakers of English who have not passed TSI must either complete ESOL testing or be referred to an ESOL Department

Prior to Spring 2021: If a student’s reading and writing scores indicate two different placements, use the score that shows the biggest need.
Students will be reassessed by their INRW instructors during the first two weeks of classes and can be moved to a different section if appropriate.

TSIA 1.0 Complete: Scores of BOTH Reading Objective 351+ AND either: 1) Writing Essay 5 plus Objective 310-339 OR 2) Essay 4 plus Objective 340+ are not required to take an INRW Course. TSIA 2.0 Complete: Scores of 945+ with Writing Essay 5 or <945 with Diagnostic Testing 5 or 6 plus Essay 5 are not required to take an INRW Course.
