In response to recent legislative changes in Texas that have reshaped policies affecting academic freedom and inclusivity in higher education, a new initiative seeks to equip students and community members with the tools to engage in policy advocacy.
For the Love of Texas (FLOT) is a collaborative summit designed to unite students, educators, policymakers, and community advocates in a shared effort to uphold the integrity of Texas’ higher education system. The event will provide a full-day, nonpartisan training opportunity, empowering young adults, students, and community members to effectively engage with policymakers and advocate for policies that support diverse and inclusive learning environments.
Through interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, and strategic networking opportunities, participants will gain practical advocacy skills to navigate Texas’ legislative landscape. Whether new to advocacy or looking to enhance their impact, attendees will leave with the knowledge and confidence to drive change in upcoming legislative sessions.
The summit underscores a commitment to nonpartisan engagement, fostering dialogue that bridges perspectives and advances a just future for all Texans.
