SXSW Create celebrated innovation and hands-on activity March 8 – 11 on the corner of First Street and Red River. The free event showcased the work of do-it-yourselfers and demonstrated that large industries and expensive factories are no longer a necessity in the creative process.

PLASTIC STORM — The sculpture by George Sabra is 14 feet high and made from reclaimed plastic bottles, bottle caps and glass bottles. The work was commissioned by The City of Austin in partnership with Keep Austin Beautiful for the city’s New Year event in December 2012
