Catherine Solaas, Dance Department Chair, was honored at the University of Oregon Class of 2023 School of Music and Dance Commencement Ceremony, where she received the Distinguished Alumni Award for 2023. Catherine was recognized by Dean Sabrina Madison-Cannon at an alumni dinner, and then had the privilege of addressing the graduates, their families, and the UO Music and Dance faculty during the commencement ceremony.
This celebration occurred on the 30 year anniversary of when she graduated from UO for the first time with her Bachelors in Dance in 1993. Catherine later went on to complete her Masters in Dance (in 1996) before moving to New York City to pursue a career in dance performance and choreography.
