Balcones Prize

We believe that writers deserve to be compensated for the vital work they do. Each year, we select an outstanding work of fiction and collection of poetry for a Balcones Literary Prize. To help support their continued work, the winners of this prize receive $1,500 each, and travel and lodging to read from their prize-winning work and teach a class with Austin Community College students in Austin, TX. Winners also agree to be final judge of the next year’s genre submissions..
