- Curriculum and Programs Committee – Meetings will be conducted virtually from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., generally on the 3rd Friday of the month; refer to the committee’s shared governance website for updated meeting information and minutes, memberships, and functions. Proposal packets are due to the Office of Curriculum Management via email attachment at least two weeks (10 working days) prior to the actual meeting date.
Refer to the C&P Committee Proposal Packet Checklist AY 2024-25 for proposal packet requirements. (Learn how to merge PDFs into ONE document, once you have all documents ready to combine into a single PDF file, by clicking here).
Department Chairs are required to attend Curriculum and Programs Committee meetings to discuss proposals, unless proposal is for a Consent Agenda Item. Consent items are typical ACGM/WECM required changes (consent items still require complete proposal packets for inclusion in committee agendas for catalog processing/documentation).
Complete proposal packets for new and expired programs, program revisions, and consent items include:
-
- Appropriate C&P Program Form, completed with all approval signatures (Department Chair, Dean, AVC), for each award or course capacity change (learn how to sign the document using Adobe Sign tool here). Note: add additional pages as needed to provide the information requested in the C&P Program Form.
- Click here to access Forms Inventory or see list of forms below. Please Note: All forms require the appropriate program CIP code to be populated.
- New programs/awards and program revisions that are being substantially changed or being revised in order to align with licensure or an industry certification – require both the proposed CIP code and Labor Market Information (LMI)/Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) data to be included in the program proposal:
- Submit a LMI REQUEST FORM ASAP when first developing a new program/award, no later than two weeks prior to the C&P proposal deadline.
- New programs/awards – review this libguide and complete Library Resource Review for a New Program/Degree form.
- Workforce Advisory Committee Minutes or Academic Department/Faculty Meeting Notes – highlight where the new program award/award revisions were discussed, voted on, and approved.
- Proposed New/Updated Program Map for next catalog
- Click here to access the current Catalog Program Map Listing – use your most current map as a template for revisions or to create a proposed new map.
- See procedures for examples of award plan revisions and converting a current map into a new award plan template – Note: depending on your computer, you may need to ‘Save as‘ a PDF if printing as an Adobe PDF doesn’t work; then export to Word as shown in the procedures document.
- Refer to C&P Style Guide for Advising Notes (Footnotes) standard guidelines.
- Any applicable information/updates to the Program Map Description are provided, including identifying stackable AAS pathway if certificate, Field of Study identified if applicable, Department Contact information, etc.
- Additional supporting documentation, as needed; refer to the appropriate THECB resource(s) and to GIPWE for Workforce program awards. For guidance on new program award development and curriculum revisions, consult with the Dean of Curriculum Management, [email protected], and Offices of Assessment & Evaluation, [email protected], and Institutional Planning & Accreditation, [email protected] (as needed).
- CMS course application form(s) as needed to support proposal OR to update course default settings (completed CMS form(s) will be inserted into the proposal packet PDF file, once approved by your Department Chair, Dean, and AVC).
- Additional information is provided in the Curriculum and Programs Committee Manual 2015 (currently under revision).
- Appropriate C&P Program Form, completed with all approval signatures (Department Chair, Dean, AVC), for each award or course capacity change (learn how to sign the document using Adobe Sign tool here).
