- Curriculum and Programs Committee (C&P) – Meetings will be conducted virtually from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (with some exceptions), generally on the 3rd Friday of the month; refer to the C&P Committee’s shared governance website for any updates to meeting information, the link to posted minutes, and the C&P Committee’s memberships list and functions. Proposal packets are due to the Office of Curriculum Management via email attachment at least two weeks (10 working days) prior to the actual meeting date.
Complete proposal packets for new and expired programs, program revisions, and consent items include:
- Appropriate C&P Program Form, completed with all approval signatures (Department Chair, Dean, AVC), for each award or course capacity change (learn how to sign the document using Adobe Sign tool here). Note: add additional pages as needed to provide the information requested in the C&P Program Form.

- New programs/awards and program revisions that are being substantially changed or being revised in order to align with licensure or an industry certification – require both the proposed CIP code and Labor Market Information (LMI)/Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) data to be included in the program proposal:
- Submit a LMI REQUEST FORM ASAP when first developing a new program/award, no later than two weeks prior to the C&P proposal deadline.
- New programs/awards – review this libguide and complete Library Resource Review for a New Program/Degree form.
- Workforce Advisory Committee Minutes or Academic Department/Faculty Meeting Notes – highlight where the new program award/award revisions were discussed, voted on, and approved.
- Proposed New/Updated Program Map for next catalog

- See procedures for examples of award plan revisions and converting a current map into a new award plan template – Note: depending on your computer, you may need to ‘Save as‘ a PDF if printing as an Adobe PDF doesn’t work; then export to Word as shown in the procedures document.
- Refer to C&P Style Guide for Advising Notes (Footnotes) standard guidelines.
- Any applicable information/updates to the Program Map Description are provided, including identifying stackable AAS pathway if a new certificate is being added or significantly revised, identifying Field of Study if applicable, correcting any of the Department Contact information, etc.
- Additional supporting documentation, as needed — refer to the appropriate THECB resource(s) for guidance, including the Career and Technical Education Guidelines for workforce programs and the Academic Course Guide Manual for academic programs.
- For guidance on new program award development and curriculum revisions, consult with the Dean of Curriculum Management, [email protected], and Offices of Assessment & Evaluation, [email protected], and Institutional Planning & Accreditation, [email protected] (as needed).
- CMS course application form(s) as needed to support your proposal OR to update course default settings — completed CMS form(s) will be downloaded/inserted into your proposal packet PDF file, once approved by your Department Chair, Dean, and AVC.
