In partnership with Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JLABS), ​the Austin Community College (ACC) Bioscience Incubator will offer a free workshop to provide expert advice in communicating the full potential of new discoveries entitled, “Sell Your Science: Best Practices for Developing an Effective Non-Confidential Pitch Deck” on Thursday, May 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., ACC Bioscience Incubator (6101 Airport Blvd.).

Experts of the craft will share practical tips on becoming more effective in communicating a business’ story to angel investors and venture capitalists to increase chances of successful fundraising. The event speaker is Tom Luby, Ph.D., head of JLABS, Texas, Johnson & Johnson Innovation. Previously, Tom was the Senior Director of New Ventures at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Boston where he focused primarily on cardiovascular & metabolic; infectious diseases and vaccines; and neurobiology.

“We are happy to partner with JLABS and bring this workshop to Austin, where so many innovators are working to transform health care and the life sciences,” says Dr. Tyler Drake, director of the Bioscience Incubator. “Students interested in entrepreneurship, start-ups, or cutting edge technologies are also encouraged to attend.”
