Austin, Texas — Austinites had plenty to cheer about Saturday night as Austin FC delivered a decisive 3–1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes, keeping their postseason hopes alive. The win at Q2 Stadium electrified the home crowd and pushed the Verde & Black into 7th place in the Western Conference — the final playoff spot.

Osman Bukari opened the scoring with his third goal of the season, assisted by Owen Wolff, setting the tone early for Austin. San Jose leveled the match soon after, but the home side never wavered. Myrto Uzuni calmly restored the lead with a composed finish, and late in the match Bruno Wilson sealed the victory, rising above the Earthquakes’ backline to head in the third goal.

Beyond the scoring, Austin’s energy and resilience carried them throughout the night. Head coach Josh Wolff praised his side’s determination, saying, “We’ve talked all year about playing with belief. Tonight, you saw that belief pay off.”

The atmosphere at Q2 Stadium reflected more than just a single win, it showed how far Austin’s sports culture has come. From soccer to basketball, baseball, and beyond, Austin is establishing itself as one of Texas’ most passionate sports communities. For students at Austin Community College, many of whom fill the stands at Q2, the growth of Austin FC has become part of the city’s identity. It’s not just professional athletes shaping Austin’s sports story, but also the energy of its fans, students, and young creatives who fuel that culture.

With the victory, Austin FC has momentum in a tightly packed playoff race. Every point will matter in the final stretch of the season, and Saturday’s performance suggested that this squad is ready for the challenge. For ACC students and Austin fans alike, it’s more than just a win — it’s another reminder of how sports continue to bring this city, and its future leaders, together.
