Dr. Kate Williams is a distinguished healthcare leader with over two decades of nursing experience. As the Regional Director of Nursing Professional Development & Practice at Baylor Scott & White in Central Texas, she spearheads vital programs that shape the future of nursing within the region.
Key Roles and Achievements:
• Leadership: Chairs the System Nursing Professional Development Leadership Council,
harmonizing clinical training and professional development across the health system.
• Strategic Initiatives: Successfully integrated practices for newly acquired hospitals and
led staff training for new hospital builds.
• Professional Recognition: Achieved ANCC PTAP designation for the Nurse Residency
Program in 2019 and contributed to Pathway to Excellence designations.
• Program Development: Created the Student Nurse Externship and RN Fellowship
Programs, as well as the Clinical Nurse Career Ladder Program.
• Workforce Development: Secured a $408K Texas Workforce Commission grant,
enhancing programs for Patient Care Technicians and Certified Medical Assistants
(2021-2023).
• Advocacy: Represented her organization at Texas Nurse Day at the Capitol in February
2023.
Dr. Williams holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and maintains board
certifications as a Nursing Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) and in Nursing Professional
Development (NPD-BC). Her commitment to excellence is evident through her active
engagement in national and international conferences, where she shares her insights and
advances the field of nursing.
