Mission Statement
Consistent with the mission of Austin Community College, the faculty of the Diagnostic Medical Imaging program are committed to providing quality instruction by preparing the technologist to be employable at an entry level in Computed Tomography and to be successful on the National Credentialing Examination in Computed Tomography.
Program Goals
- Upon completion of the Computed Tomography Program, the student will satisfactorily demonstrate the following entry-level skills in CT:
- clinical competency
- communication skills
- problem solving and critical thinking skills
- professional growth and development
- A minimum of 90% of program graduates will pass the ARRT credentialing examination in CT.
- At least 75% of admitted declared students will complete the program.
- At least 80% of graduates seeking employment in CT will be employed within six months of program completion.

Diagnostic Medical Imaging Programs Statement on “Pass” and “No Pass”
If a "P" grade is chosen for a Spring 2020 prerequisite course, the “P” grade will not be calculated in determining the GPA for ranking purposes and could impact your total ranking. This applies to Radiology, MRI, Computed Tomography, and Cardiovascular Interventional Technology applicants. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the next Computed Tomography program cycle is delayed until Spring 2021 and will take place during the Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 semesters. The deadline for Spring 2021 entering applicants has been extended to November 1, 2020.
