TEAS Requirement Waived For Spring 2021 Vocational Nursing Applications Due to COVID-19



Due to testing center closures, the TEAS test application requirement will be waived for the Spring 2021 Vocational Nursing application cycle. This is a temporary exception for Spring 2021 admission only and is due to the uncertainty of testing center normal operations due to COVID-19.

The Vocational Nursing program will use the following for the Spring 2021 ranking process:

Completion of BIOL 2404: Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology with grade of A, B, or C 5 points
Completion of Anatomy and Physiology I & II (if taken prior to the application deadline) with grade of A, B, or C 8 points
Completion of HPRS 2300: Pharmacology for Health Professions (if taken prior to the application deadline) with grade of A, B, or C 5 points
Completion of a computer class (if taken prior to the application deadline) 2 points
Military Medical Training such as Air Force Medic, Army Combat Medic, Navy Corpsman, or Coast Guard Medic 2 points
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) training 2 points
Information Session (in-person or online) 1 point

  • Anatomy and Physiology I Assessment Testing Suspended for Summer and Fall 2020 Registration Only

    Due to COVID-19, and in response to ACC campuses limiting access to essential personnel only, the A&P I Assessment Test has been suspended for the remainder of this testing period and the Fall testing period. Students will not need permission to register for BIOL 2401 for Summer '20 and Fall '20 registration periods ONLY.

  • ACC approves new Vocational Nursing degree

    Austin Community College (ACC) approved a new degree in Vocational Nursing to prepare students for entry-level positions in vocational nursing. The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is structured to provide a flexible, affordable pathway for students who complete a Level II Vocational Nursing Certificate to continue on their path and earn an associate degree.
