Value Statement

The Austin Community College District (“ACC”, or “the College”) provides access to resources in support of operational and educational goals. ACC has legal, contractual, and ethical obligations to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its Information Resources. 

Administrative Rule 

ACC Information Resources may be used for ACC business use. 

Anyone who accesses ACC Information Resources must abide by all Information Security Policies, ACC Administrative Rules, and other applicable policies and guidelines.

Any data created, transmitted and/or stored on ACC resources is the property of ACC and subject to access and monitoring in compliance with laws and ACC policies.  

Abuse of ACC Information Resources may result in disciplinary action or revocation of access.

Responsibility:

The Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible, and has explicit authority, for the development, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of the College’s Information Security Program for safeguarding ACC Information Resources. 

In addition, CISO shall ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as, but not limited to Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 202, Subchapter C.

Definitions:

Information Resources:  Procedures, equipment, or software that are employed, designed, built, operated, or maintained to collect, record, process, store, retrieve, display, or transmit information.
